I don't know what's more annoying, the fact that people are playing games and keeping me out of the loop on semi-important things, or the fact that they think i'll lag by more than a few hours.

In rather unrelated news, and in news that few thus far have been made aware of, I need to have left this place (my house) by the end of June. I've been spending a lot of the last few weeks filling out paperwork, making arrangements, and in general rushing around like a man possessed. It's left me little time in general for blogging, or for socialising - it doesn't help that the people I'd actually voluntarily go out of my way to socialise with are typically quite busy or fucking hermits (no offence meant to couragose, who, while a prodigious hermit in her own right, faces challenges from others among my friends for the esteemed title of "most epic hermit") ...

So basically the situation is I don't really have a new place to move into yet. I've filled out paperwork for Housing Assistance because it's the most viable option at present given the situation involving my father... there are other possibilities, but they're not viable at present. I'm looking for other possibilities regarding a new place to rent but I'm honestly not hopeful about finding what we require within our price range.

My current strategy is to ensure all my tech's in working order, because I may need it. I'm probably going to try and sell off some stuff in order to raise capital and lower the amount of shit that needs to be moved from place to place... Speaking of tech, there'll be updates to my website soon, about some projects I'm working on (one promising one is running Windows NT 3.51 from a solid state drive on a pentium-class laptop).

I think I mentioned Tas' return in a previous post, everything went better then expected there, we're talking and being civil and being friends and that's honestly a better outcome than I'd hoped for.

In happier news, couragose came up to Sydney and stayed here for a few days, notably during which she took me to see Distant Worlds. Any of you who haven't been, if you have the chance, for the love of god GO. Even if you're not an FF nerd it is really amazing. To think I could have gone forever without knowing of the existence of Swing de Chocobo. (Which honestly sounds amazing when played with actual brass, live.) She also had to draw me when I was crumpled over designing a starship, so ... uh ... yeah there is a kind of blobby thing somewhere that is pretty much a likeness of me that she drew. :D

I genuinely don't know what to do. As in, I can't even brain.

I've only had one teacher I really really couldn't respect. A principal, actually. And I only realised the magnitude of how much I couldn't respect him well after I'd left his sphere of influence.

I don't know if he'd just been broken by a career full of dealing with bullshit, and no longer had the capacity to try; perhaps he saw little reason to create a learning environment for a school full of pathetic underachievers and violent louts.

If I could tell that man anything... I'd tell him he should have retired early and perhaps spared his school the utter disgrace it suffered in its final years.
